The NFL combine is over some prospects’ performance’s shot them up draft boards and others solidified their statuses as top picks.
Shaquem Griffin, LB, Central Florida: Not only is Griffin an inspirational figure-his 20 bench press reps went viral– but he’s a legit prospect. He blew away scouts with a 4.38 second-40 yard dash. His performance was so convincing it convinced Seahawks cornerback to advocate on his behalf.
Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State: It’s not often that a prospect goes from a top ten prospect to be in the discussion for the number one pick overall. But prospects like Barkley don’t come around very often. He wowed scouts with a 4.40 40-yard dash and posted a 41-inch vertical leap. If that wasn’t enough the 6-0 and 233 pound back threw up 29 bench press reps. Show me the money!
Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming: Despite a subpar 2017 season, Allen has thrived in both draft preparation activities thus far. An audible gasp of amazement rang through Lucas Oil Stadium after the Wyoming Qb threw a 70-yard bomb on a rope. Allen confirmed the traits that have scouts tantalized. His cannon of an arm will make him lots of money very soon.
Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State: Every member of Penn State’s training staff needs a raise immediately. Their players shined at the combine like a steroid-laced Russian Olympic team. Gesicki was a surprise out jumping teammate Saquon Barkley in the vertical jump(by one inch) and scoring a 4.54 40 yard dash. Very few prospects did more to improve their draft position and therefore bring home more cash.
