Can Tidal Take Over?

glory

I must admit that I am not the biggest fan of Tidal.  However, with today’s exclusive release of lil Wayne’s new song “Glory”, I understand how they could survive.  By no means am I saying they will, but at the same time I have learned to never bet against HOV.  I expect more exclusive releases of music like “Glory” due to the fact that the list of shareholders for Tidal is very high profile.  The company is trying to add more high profile names every day but just to name a few; Usher, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Deadmau5, Kanye West, Jay Z, J. Cole, Calvin Harris, Chris Martin, Jason Aldean, Jack White, Daft Punk, Beyonce, Arcade Fire and Alicia Keys.

The concert streams were a decent try, but for them to really be able to compete with Spotify or Rhapsody they will have to continue these exclusive releases.  I know that after a few hours the songs will make it into the internet one way or another.  But as I am writing this article, every single Youtube video of Wayne’s new song is getting taken down  for Copyright infringement.  Tidal is really making an effort and they are doing it in a way that might work out for them.  Check out lil Wayne’s new Tidal Exclusive release “Glory” from the “Free Weezy Album” here.
